How to replace Blower motor on 2000 VW Beetle ?

Removal & Installation

The basic procedure is as follows :---

1. Remove the negative battery cable.
2. Detach the connector from the wiring leading to the blower motor.
3. Remove the five attaching screws from the blower motor.
4. To remove the blower motor, pull it downward.
5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the passenger's side glove box and if equipped, the lower knee bar.
3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the mounting clamp.
5. Remove the self-tapping screws securing the blower motor to the housing.
6. Carefully lower the blower motor to remove it from the housing.
7. Installation is in reverse order of removal.

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
2. Remove the screws and disengage the clips securing the passenger-s side lower footwell panel, then remove the panel.
3. Remove the screws securing the blower motor assembly.
4. Lower the assembly, then detach the electrical connection.
5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
